Call Upon His Name
ADONAI
Adonai, Lord, is such a powerful name. It will one day cause each knee to bow, and tongue confess that He is Lord. It can be difficult for people who to acknowledge God as Lord for many reasons. When you call upon Adonai, you are saying that you recognize His authority, omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence. But in looking back upon your life, you begin to realize that is not a lack of faith in that God will do what He says He will do, but that people who were present, knowledgeable, and powerful in your life, the authority figures, did not handle their position with love and grace.
When someone powerful is present, their impact upon us is lasting. They feed our knowledge of this world and God. Maybe it time to let the real Lord of your life take the reins. The next time you pray, try taking a very deep breath and slowly exhale. Allow this breath to clear your mind and if you still feel unsettled, take another until you feel your shoulders begin to fall. You have been trying to hold the whole world up by your shoulders and they need a break. Breathe until they fall, then close your eyes.
With your eyes closed, just thank Him for being Lord. Maybe an old song begins to play in your head, and you hear angelic chorus begin to softly sing, Adonai. During this time, allow God to speak to your heart and mind. He promises not to abuse His presence, power, or knowledge on you. He promises to uphold you, empower you, and fill you with His very own knowledge. He promises to be a good to you and to love you with a love not based upon performance or precepts, but instead upon the very goodness of His name.
Lord, help us to trust you not upon our past but upon Your own Word. Engulf us with your presence, fill us with your knowledge, and protect us with your power.
The Lord, Adonai, is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent. He can be trusted.
In His Name, Rachele
